Nate Diaz (0-1) will look to rebound from his unanimous decision loss to Jake Paul last August in his professional boxing debut.
Jorge Masvidal (1-0) hasn’t fought professionally since 2005, when he defeated Joseph Benjamin via majority decision. He hasn’t fought since losing his last UFC fight to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 via unanimous decision in April 2023.

The next match is Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal.
Round 1: Diaz comes forward and attacks the body. Masvidal starts with a southpaw. Diaz with a steady stream of punches. Masvidal counters with his own volume. Diaz tries to mix up the head and body punches. Right hook from Masvidal connects. Diaz continues to mix up the high and low strikes. Diaz presses Masvidal in the corner, nothing too heavy gets through. Masvidal builds momentum as the round progresses. Diaz is content to pound away at Masvidal’s defense.

Round 2: Masvidal is much quicker to counter in this round. He doesn’t let Diaz walk him down. Diaz digs to the body. Masvidal answers with short jabs as he fights his way off the ropes. That Diaz jab works. Masvidal sneaks in with a right, then two more to the body. Diaz goes for the head, but Masvidal keeps his gloves up. Control Masvidal’s right hook. Diaz back to the body. Diaz answers with a jab. Close round.

Round 3: Masvidal is shooting as Diaz just marches toward him. He has Diaz on the defensive, which you don’t see very often. Masvidal is attacking the body, which creates an opening for a left to the head. Diaz is applying pressure, but is met with a counter left. I see Masvidal scoring with the bigger punches, despite Diaz’ impressive output. Masvidal is rushing forward. Diaz just keeps throwing punches and now it’s Masvidal who has to back away. Big finish to the round for Diaz.

Round 4: Masvidal is now using the jab well. Diaz wants to bully Masvidal, but he doesn’t dodge Masvidal’s counters or combinations. Diaz hits the body. Masvidal counter scores. Masvidal gets his jab. These are a few close exchanges. Masvidal fires hard to the body. Diaz with punches in bunches, nothing big, but he wears Masvidal down. Masvidal may be slowing down or conserving his energy. Lots of rounds to go.

Round 5: Masvidal slips and rips Diaz’s body. Diaz just puts punches in Masvidal’s face. They’re going at it, just a mean, gritty fight. Right hook from Masvidal is the money. He goes for the body every time they’re close. Right left by Masvidal. Diaz throws from every angle. Masvidal doubles up on the jab. Two Masvidal rights to the body. Diaz has Masvidal cornered and he’s jabbing away. Masvidal bursts out of the corner! This pace is insane.

Round 6: Masvidal is now finding a home for the right hand. Diaz wants to use his jab to build his power, Masvidal is starting to figure out the timing. Diaz is hitting Masvidal as he pushes him to the corner. Masvidal with a body shot as he circles. That tactic has cost him the entire match. Diaz is striking away with no regard for his safety. And right on cue, Masvidal lands a counter right. Right hook by Diaz. Masvidal connects with a left, they just trade.

Round 7: Masvidal with a lunging right. Diaz backs up to Masvidal. Some Rope-a-dope for Masvidal. Right hand from Masvidal. He counters Diaz’s aggression with hooks. Short right hand from Masvidal. Jab slows Diaz down. Left hook from Diaz. There’s Masvidal with a left hook. Defense is out the window. Diaz lets loose with a right hand and Masvidal just takes it. Wild fighting.

Round 8: Diaz relentless. Body-head-body-head-body-head, Diaz looking for every opening he can find. Masvidal sets up a combination and Diaz throws his arms out to his sides, beckoning Masvidal to continue. Right hook from Masvidal. He lands bodyshot after bodyshot, then Diaz punches him right in the face. Right past Masvidal as he backs away. Diaz steps forward with straight punches. Masvidal with a series of straight bombs around Diaz’s guard as the clock runs out.

Round 9: More of the same from these two, with Diaz showing non-stop aggression and Masvidal choosing to sport his power punches. Diaz peppers Masvidal’s defense with punches, some of which get through. Masvidal counters a body shot with a smacking right. Diaz keeps throwing it. This is insane. Masvidal goes to the body and then scores with a right up top. Diaz showing off a bit, Masvidal can’t capitalize. Right hand from Diaz.

Round 10: Diaz comes out of his corner and slams those gloves into the side of Masvidal’s head, but Masvidal’s counters are on point. Right hand from Masvidal. Another after a break. Masvidal lands a counter left. Quick combination from Diaz. They reach deep and trade close. Masvidal lands clean to the body, but nothing can slow Diaz down. Masvidal lands a right hand to the gut. He leans on Diaz as the clock ticks down. Diaz connects with a right hand from Masvidal. Diaz fares a little better as they throw from distance. Punch to the bell, again. Incredibly fun fight.

Diaz: “It feels good to get the job done, that’s for sure. Mission accomplished.”
He says he’s going to beat Jake Paul’s f*cking ass next.
He adds that he still wants to become UFC champion.
“Leon Edwards. Jake Paul. You’re dead.”
Masvidal is asked about the decision. He says he feels like he won and that he landed the harder punches well, even though Diaz landed more.
