It’s been a little over a year since The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom hit Switch, and for many of us, the adventure is over. Sure, we can still head to Hyrule to do a few more quests, do some more exploring, or just get lost in the wonders of it all, but for the most part, we’re done.
The same can’t be said for speedrunner and content creator SmallAnt. After announcing that he’d reached the hallowed 100% completion rate within the game’s first two weeks of launch, you’d think the streamer would be done with Link’s latest adventure as well. You’d be wrong.
In a recent stream, SmallAnt went on a quest to collect every single unique stone in the game. Yes, you read that right. Not content with the Korok Seeds, Named Locations, Side Quests, Shrines, and other categories required for 100% completion, SmallAnt collected stones (thanks, GamesRadar).
If it sounds like a joke, it is: the streamer was inspired to start the collectathon by a commentator who claimed he had completed the game too quickly. But that’s not to say that SmallAnt didn’t try.
As you will see in the next video, SmallAnt’s collection had to include: every unique rock (including Talus Hearts, fallen Sky Island pieces and boulders) and they had to all over HyruleThanks to the magic of environmental items despawning when Link got too far away, SmallAnt had to carry the entire collection with him at all times (whether Fused to weapons or on a giant “Bouldermobile”) to ensure his work wasn’t in vain.
And don’t worry, the collection of stones has been compared to a spreadsheet of all the objects in the game, so we know for sure that no stone has been left unturned… literal.
We won’t go into the details of how SmallAnt accomplished this challenge. The title of his video is “I collected every stone in Tears of the Kingdom,” so you have some idea of how successful he was. But prepare to learn more about the geological structure of Hyrule than you ever imagined.
