Daily Recap 7/8 – Spoilers for Episode ep-by-ep of Bachelorette Jenn, What Happens Tonight’s Premiere, Golden Bachelorette, and 90210 Chat with Brandon and Brenda

You’re listening to the Daily Roundup as part of the Reality Steve Podcast. I’m your host, Reality Steve. Thanks for tuning in. Happy Monday show. It’s Premiere Monday. Bachelorette number 21. The Gen Trans season starts tonight on ABC. We’ve got a lot to talk about on that front. Talk about last night’s livestream and we’ve got some golden Bachelorette news.

I have some news. Weekly podcast number 400 is coming in a couple of weeks. And we’ll talk a little bit more about Jen’s spoilers. And I have a 90210 story from last week that we’ll get to in a minute. Okay. Let’s start tonight with Jen’s season premiere. What do you think? We’re finally here, July 8th, Jen Tran, 21st Bachelorette, although she’s the 23rd woman to be the Bachelorette.

Because we’ve had two seasons where there were two women playing the bachelorette, Claire and Tayshia. Rachel and Gabby. So let’s start here. Before we get to Jen’s season, I wanted to talk about a lot of the things that I mentioned on the livestream last night. If you haven’t already, check it out on my YouTube channel, reality, Steve YouTube, and you can see me go through everything and show you some pictures that I mentioned that I haven’t actually posted yet.

And then maybe some other things that you might be interested in answering questions for everybody, but basically going through the spoilers, which I’ll get to later guys. But one of the things that we talked about. Was the Golden Bachelorette and the Golden Bachelorette is now filming Jones season.

They’ve been filming for about three weeks, because they started on June 21st and today is July 8th. So what 9, 17, so two and a half weeks of filming. I don’t know, I know filming ends at the end of this month. So they probably have another two and a half weeks left of filming. We talked about it at the very beginning, because Kelsey Anderson, you know, who’s engaged to Joey, she was so candid about her father, Mark, being open to love and she’d love to see him.

And she basically gave him permission to be on Jones’ season. And we talked about it at the time. It was just really, you know, I even said it, I thought, look, I would be shocked if Mark didn’t appear on Jones’ season. And then we saw that two days before filming started, he went private on Instagram and it all became public.

Well, I can tell you that Mark is on the season and I brought this up last night and I brought it up a couple of weeks ago. I was pretty sure Mark was on the season, but yeah, he’s on. And I think one of the things is, you know, I, nothing against Mark Anderson, you know, but it almost seems unfair to the other guys that are there, because the crowd is already cheering for Mark Anderson.

Who wouldn’t want him to end up with Joan? I don’t think this is going to be like a Patty Smith, Matt or Patty James, Matt James’ mother who was on the Gary season and went home on the first night. It was a non-factor that won’t happen to Mark Anderson, but I think so. The audience already wants him to find love.

And, you know, from a production standpoint, it makes perfect sense for him to be on the show. I get that point. I’m just saying that if Mark ends up with Joan, it’s going to be a little bit of… Okay. This is almost an arranged marriage. I understand that they have to get along. I understand that Joan has to fall for him and he has to fall for her, but if everyone in the audience wants him to end up with Joan, it’s like, there are things they can do on that show to make that happen.

It’s almost a win-win situation, because if Mark, let’s say, doesn’t win, but he makes it to the end, then you’re just setting them up as our next golden bachelor. You know, why wouldn’t you do that at that point? Because he makes it to the end and then Joan dumps him and everyone’s going to feel even more sorry for him than they already do because he lost his wife.

You know, I get it from a television perspective. He’s the one, but I’m just saying, if you’re one of the other guys in that house, you’re probably thinking, okay, they’re clearly pushing this guy and they want him to be the winner or our next golden bachelor. And. I’m not saying it’s not fair. I’m just saying, I’m sure those other guys have some feelings about Mark being cast on the show, especially if he ends up winning.

I’m not going to say it wouldn’t be a great love story if he wins, because I think people would absolutely love it, but you know what I mean. So Mark is, you know, Mark is filming Golden Bachelorette now. And the other thing I wanted to say was, and I mentioned it last night on the, on the live.

And this is something I’m really excited about. This week, on Thursday, is podcast number three. 99 and for 400 I wanted to do something with someone who’s never been there before. I just wanted to make it a big thing. Podcast number 400 is not only, you know, number 400 I never thought I’d get to 400 weekly podcasts when I started this in December of 2016. We’re also going to YouTube.

So not only will you see it, believe me, it’s still in your Apple Podcast feed on Thursday mornings and in your Spotify feed wherever you listen to my podcasts on Thursdays, but it’s also on YouTube so you can watch me interview the people that I talk to in 399 episodes.

You’ve never seen me interview the people on the hand. Well, now you’re going to start on episode 400. And for episode 400, I wanted to make it someone special, someone who had never been on the show before and someone who would really grab attention for the 400th episode. And that’s what I got.

And I think it’s one of the best I’ve ever done. And it’s going to be with Clayton Eckerd. Now you might be thinking, my God, Steve, we’re Claytoned out at this point. Let me counter that a little bit and say this, Clayton’s been doing a lot of interviews lately. You know, because the judge ruled in his favor.

This case is pretty much done. Of course, the other side can find a file and appeal, but nobody in a million years thinks they’re going to win an appeal, except for her lawyer, who, you know, lives in a different world than the rest of us, along with Laura herself. So they all think they’re going to win an appeal, but nobody else thinks that nobody in the legal profession who’s followed this case thinks they have a chance of winning an appeal, but that doesn’t matter.

Clayton has been doing a lot of interviews lately. So when I approached him, I was like, man, I want you on the podcast and I know you do a lot, but I want to change it up. I don’t want to sit here and rehash everything that everyone who’s been following this case for a while already knows, like what happened on the night of the 20th and you know, how did she do it, you know, what did she do and what did she say?

It’s like, well, we know the emails. If you listen to me or Dave, you know very well what’s going on here. And you know, the details of this case. Now, for those of you who don’t follow Dave every day or haven’t been paying attention to what’s been happening to him over the last nine months, we’re talking about Laura Owens in this case and I, in this podcast, I think it’s the first 30, 40 minutes.

We talk about Laura and this case in generalizations. We don’t sit there and make a timeline. You know, when he, when he went on Nick Vial’s podcast, he had to speak to a lot of people who probably had no idea about the case. So they were going, okay, what happened here? What happened here?

All that stuff. It’s not an interview like that. This is almost like a Clayton Eckerd uncensored, Clayton Eckerd unfiltered, Clayton Eckerd tells it all, and it’s more about him as a person and it’s more about his mental health. And you know, I’ve never had Clayton before, so we’ve never, I’ve never talked to him about his season, where he was one of the most hated Bachelors we’ve ever had for what he did to Gabby and Rachel and Susie and told them he loved them.

And then Susie said, well, if you’ve slept with both of them, I have to go. And then he ended up with Susie, because he wanted to, he wanted to be with her, and then they got together after the show. We talk about all that stuff, there’s a lot of good stuff about Susie in there too. And I just think it’s a really, really good interview.

I can’t wait for you all to hear it. It’s going to be next Thursday’s podcast, July 18th, but I recorded it on Friday and I’m just really proud of it. And Clayton thought it went really well. And yeah, you can listen to it on audio, but you can also watch it on YouTube if you’re interested.

So sign up for my YouTube channel, subscribe, just go to YouTube, click on Reality Steve, subscribe there. And you’ll find it. If you want to watch the livestream from last night, go ahead. It should be clearly listed there. And I think, I think you’re just going to see a side of Clayton and you’re going to, you’re going to hear a side of Clayton in this podcast.

I just don’t think you’ve heard it yet. I think you’re going to learn a lot about a man from this podcast. He takes full responsibility for how his season went and what he did, but. He does explain the reasoning behind the things he did. He doesn’t try to make excuses. He just says, look, you want to know what you want, an answer.

This is why I did what I did. This is why I said the things I did. Doesn’t make it right. But if you want to know why, because I’m just sitting here thinking, you know, Clayton, since your season aired, I haven’t been able to talk to you. Why did you tell three women that you love them? What were you thinking? And he answers.

Talk about Susie and how their relationship was where he was mentally when the show started airing and he started getting the hate that he did Really really really really good interview can’t wait for you guys here. That’s coming next Thursday. So be on the lookout for that.
