The NYPD released video Monday morning of a masked suspect involved in the shooting that killed a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old boy at a Bronx McDonald’s over the weekend.
The footage shows the alleged assailant walking around the fast food restaurant on White Plains Road just before the gunfire broke out Saturday night.
The photo shows the suspect wearing a surgical face mask and walking through the McDonald’s with his hands in the pockets of a hooded sweatshirt.
Police rushed to the scene after reports of a shooting came in just before 10 p.m. The shooter reportedly fired at least six shots before fleeing, police said.
When officers arrived, they found the 12-year-old boy with gunshot wounds to his back and left leg. Police said he found his friend with a bullet hole in his left thigh.
Both children were taken to Jacobi Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, police said.
The motive for the shooting was not immediately clear.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the alleged perpetrator to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers helpline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip on the Crime Stoppers website.
